Hi Denis

If we can turn things around it will be great and as long as we get the feedback that we need to keep track of the water and stock via catch reports etc like you have done in the past I'm sure we can get the water back on track.
If we want to get more members on the banks and stop all the casual anglers on there who leave all the rubbish etc we need to promote the water and get more members fishing it.

Cheers
Saul

ps, If anyone else has any photos & details of fish caught from there in the last few years It would be great to get the photos & info to help promote the water and very importantly be able to give SNH & SWT a reasonable idea of current stock levels ( which they have requested as part of the info they need )

Another update for you with regard to stocking any more Carp into Libo.

So far the freshwater advisor at SNH has suggested that permission should not be given to stock more Carp into Loch Libo :(
Reason = Common carp are capable of modifying aquatic environments - to the detriment of
water quality and the survival of macrophytes.

I'm going to keep trying but but I think the chances of getting permission to stock are very slim due to the SSSI status and on the slim chance we do get to stock I'm sure the numbers would be very low.

Overall there has been no change since we last asked to stock a few years ago which is no surprise with the Loch's unchanged SSSI status.

Cheers
Saul

psssst..SNH are pulling the wool over your eyes...the loch is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust..they are the ones that have final say on what does and does not go on there. SNH are there as an advisory role only.

If you look up the National Biodiversity Network, which is the official body that SNH basis all of its decisions on, you will see that there are infact no tench or Carp in Libo

I have found SNH to be a real bully boy orginisation driven by hippy ecologists who actually have little understanding of the environment!!

Hi Rob

Yes it's all a bit messy but now the FRS are also involved and they take advice from SNH it all gets daft, but I'm sure it's SNH that has the final say when it comes to SSSI's :?
Good point about the site info, could be something to look at.

Cheers
Saul
