here are my views on loch libo

access to libo is mental due to the railway track as far as parking goes the cars are deffinetly not safe as i have experienced. The poaching issue is mainly pikers and the only time it annoys me is when the guys of the pike club try to tell me they dont know it is a private water but they are full of censored. The weed problem in the summer can be really bad unless you are prepaired to use a rake. But on a high note it has the best head of big tench of any water in scotland i myself have had a few there are a lot of pike in it and if you enjoy a day of piking then you will have some great sport. It has an excellent head of roach some of which 2lb plus and an excellent head of perch. Over the past 7-8 years i have fished and watched it and i believe there to be no more than 50 carp in the water. Which is very poor in a water of its size in fact it is a joke. I have known for a fact that the swt have no problem with us stocking the water they believe it would be a good thing the only problem with stocking this water as with some of the other waters in the scg is our own comittee. I dont know why they dont want to stock it it has given me a few sleepless nights in the past is it because none of them fish it or is it the fact that they would have to drive all the way over to libo knowing that their car is not safe and would not be able to enjoy their session or is it just lugging their gear over the railway track. But the lack of stocking the water is down to our own comittee and no one else.
As i said these are my views and no one elses but as i have always believed libo has the potential to be the best water we have got if it had carp in it, Dennis and Colin are right in what they say the more members that fish it the sooner the word would go round and less poachers would appear but in order to get members on it you've got to get past the four horsemen of the apocalypse at the top table who are the be all and end all and not the paid up members of the scg who should have more of a say on what happens.
I'm not looking for any post back these are my views as an ex member of the scg.

cheers

George

Hi George , how's you?
Mmmmm..... would say it got a few more than 50 fish?

Secure parkng! always parked my car @ Ian McVicars then stumbled through woods to loch!
Its a water that holds a few lumps! saw few fish about 6 yr ago & all were 20ties :D
If this water was in kent it would be getting a lot of angling pressure!
As with ev else put a letterr in @ the AGM & see what transpires ?

Cheers

Hi guys,
I only ever told Iain whom I fished with that I saw a BIG mirror carp crash...
my eyes nearly popped out of my head  ...definetly looked a 20.
I'd love to have a go at getting that in a photo one day. :D
Never planned to put that on here

The resident swans are available to clear holes in the weed if an angler puts in some nice cheep swan snacks for them. It works.

Thanks from Denis.

From the horses mouth....Thought it was an issue or a confusion in the type/strain of Carp.....Or was it as black and white and NO MORE FISH... :?:

Hi Guys, I fished libo many moons ago with the Likes of big Mat & Ian Mcv who was my neighbour and got me in to carping. The water at the time was a well stocked and carp full water, which I loved to fish. I worked out the other day that I spent more than 40 hours a week down there and loved every minute.

I always found that good prep was the only way to get good Carp. Although I only managed a few over th eyears the tench kept me happy.
I will be back there soon once I convince the mrs that it's a good thing to be away all weekend.

Jamie
