Hello guys just wanted to ask if the weed problem will fix itself will the weed die in winter or do the swans need to come back and eat it and dose this happen often?.

it doesnt really fix itself, in winter id dies but theres still big dead clumps of weed which eventually float about spring, blow up to the back wall and then theres about a big band of dead weed blown agains the back wall ( ask the work party, theyll know what i mean) then just after spring it all comes back and the whole place is weedy again, every year just got to get used to it mate, the margins are fine, bit of blanker weed but just fish underdepth so its suspended above the weed, youll see all the roach in the edge just fish there

The whole thing about needing the swans is a load of nonsense, having the vast numbers that used to be there is not natural! and was a nightmare for the anglers. Great a decent tough Cob is back on get get things back how they should be.

The weed generally grows in cycles of around 5 years depending on the nutrients available but as it's getting so bad, it could point to excess nurtients being washed in from the gold course etc (fertaliser).

For the roach, two old rake heads back to back on a length of ropoe should sort you out a nice litte clear spot  might even get the tench going 8)

Cheers
Saul

Isent this weed a pain in the arse when carp fishing on the bottom?

wee should hire 2 bumper boats and tie some heavy cable between them and have a race up the loch
then wee can all get the tench going :P and carp ofc :P
