Malky and I were meant to be barbel fishing on the ribble this weekend but due to a poor forcecast we decided to go to Lanark instead as the forecsat was much better. That turned out to be rubbsih as we had howling gales and snow all weekend. In fact Andy Donnelly is still looking for his brolly after being blown away.

We arrived on the Saturday morning with the intention of staying until today. Aftert deciding where to fish Malky put a bait out at distance and within the hour had a take, which resulted in a 15-12 Mirror, it was covered in leeches but in great colour and condition. An hour late Malky had another take on the same rod, which was a much bigger fish and putr up a good fight. Once netted it was 23.00 exactly a new scottish pb for Malky. His 2009 carp fishing was barely 2 hours old. No further actions ensued until 07.30 on the Saturday morning when he had another take which resulted in a 12-4 Mirrror. All were in mint condition and had lots of leeches.

Photos off all will uploaded asap.
I was chief photographer as usual but a big well done to Malky !!!

Nice going malky.

Just shows they can be caught in grotesque conditions.

What numbers are they in the Lanark gallery?

Cant see them yet?

Superb pics.

Fish look cracking in winter colours.

Can see Lanark throwing up a few 20's this year.
