Calling all children and young people – we need your help to find out whether spectators at your sport are putting you off your game.

Have you seen spectators shout at players? Or perhaps you’ve been on the receiving end of abusive language yourself?

Safeguarding in Sport, a CHILDREN 1ST service, is launching a campaign to highlight poor behaviour and show how it affects children and young people.

As part of the campaign we need to hear what you have to say – so if you’re under 18 and have five minutes or so then it would be great if you could fill in a quick survey for us.

Please note that the survey is open until Monday 24 October. You can access the survey here http://children1st.spectatorsandsport.sgizmo.com/s3/ . Thanks for your help.

I helped run my sons primary team a few years back and on occasion I'd referee. It was only 7 a side and the abuse screamed towards me for not cautioning or sending off players for late tackles was unbelievable. "they're only kids and tackles build character" didn't wash with most parents. Pleased to say I never sent anyone off but splitt up a few fights amongst the juniors. Kids being passionate about the sport they played ,to such an extent that they wanted to fight about it ,still brings a tear to my eye.
