Guys

Any suggestions on where is worth looking at for a few days in mid October that is roughly within 4 hours from Edinburgh?

Ideally a water with the chance of a few fish but has decent sized fish also?

Cheers

Not long back from 72 hours on Wyreside. Very little had been out the whole week prior to arriving. First 24 hours were on Sunny 2 which was empty, I lost a fish near the island and that was it - ran straight into snags!! Moved on to Sunny 1 and things were slow but fish started showing and moving. Cut a long story short, Michael had 4 and I had 1 and the biggest at about 8oz - they Roach are far easier catching than the carp.....(I was determined not to blank and get my 70 quids worth...)

No more action on the carp unfortunately and neither did the other 6 on Sunny 1 but it was the same on all the waters except 'river lake' which produced about 7/8 fish over a few days but only about 5/6 were off the remaining waters to about 40 anglers!! Nice venue tho just too cold I think - time for the pike!!!
