If you catch let me know kieran. I'm also going to have a go for barbel in the ouse. I had a 19 1/2 in devon and lost an absolute beast that I couldn't stop.

Wish it was kieran there's not much in the way of barbel fishing in devon strangely, that reply was badly written. I had a 19 1/2 carp in devon amongst about 15 others between 10 1/2 to 17 1/2 and that one I never saw and couldnt hold that run me straight into a snag that I never knew existed. guy in the tackle shop said the water I was fishing had a 30+ common and a 32+ mirror, I think it was one of those. The water wasn't fishing that well so I was pleased to outfish the locals. Even more when they heard my accent

I had tench to 5 1/2 as well and as I'd only ever had a tiny one before, I was surprised how well they fought  Oh and a sodding bream, filthy bloody things; the snot up the line was unbelievable

BTW, I've been recommended some other waters as well as raker, I'll pm them to you

Dont know how far from york you want to travel, but Stubbs hall Fishery is an hour south of york. I put a wee thread up about it , can fish really well on its day and does have some big carp in as well. :)
