Just sent a pm to another member and used the S word but when it show the preview it had censored the S word why :?: surly private messages are free from moderators and censorship.......thanks Andy

I believe the censored settings are global, ie forum and PM's and there is not currently a way to split it.

You can edit messages but only for a short period after they were originally posted, I think it is 15 minutes.

i believe it is a new tool ,,,, :mrgreen: basically there is a list of words not allowed on any part of the forum pm or open discussion ..the server automatically edits out the offending words .like .......censored....(just wanted to try it)

Paul is correct. The Banned words list is global and as such, affects all areas of the forum including Private Messages. However, I would like to clear this up once and for all.

Private Messages are not monitored on this forum. Any discussions between members are Private and are not viewed by Admin.

The code used for ban filtering is not clever enough to define text typed into a normal post and text entered within a private message.

I trust this clears this matter up ;)
