When posting, please DO NOT use "txt talk" as it makes the forum hard to read and make any sense of.

There is also a spell checker so please take the time to check your posts before you submit them, they don't need to be perfect but at least try and get them right

Cheers
Saul

Here here Saul!

As a teacher I cringe at the spelling and grammar on this forum. However, it does not make you a bad person if you cannot spell. It does make it hard to read as saul has suggested.

I am so anal that I rarely use text language in texts- sad eh?
:D

come on you crazy bad spellers- use the spell check!!!!

I find it takes longer to read, well should I say understand, the posts written in text talk. I put it down to very bad spelling and grammer. It's like a hybridisation of slang, bad grammar, lazy typing and poor spelling......There is a spell checker, although it is an American checker. I have not got a clue what some of the posts say..

Olny srmat poelpe can raed this.
I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in what oredr the ltteers in a word are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is that the first and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it wouthit a porbelm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt!

I quite agree. I admit, my grammar isn't perfect but I try at least, if not to try and maintain what's left of the language but to make myself understood, although I still manage to baffle a lot of people in here. I cannot abide text speak. It's gibberish nonsense and it makes a mockery of the language.

I once challenged my mate's son to type out a randomly spoken phrase, chosen by my mate, to see who could type it the fastest. I was using the predictive text function and my mate's son was using his usual pish.

I can't recall what the phrase was but I managed to type the phrase out correctly spelt, with grammar in half the time.

It just demonstrates that text speak doesn't save time or energy. It's a lot of pishflaps made up by people who can't apply themselves to the task in hand.

tally ho old chap what.
