Hi I'm looking for somewhere to fish that's not too busy and is a good place for someone new to the sport to try for carp. Distance from Glasgow not an issue. Not too many restrictions on baits tho. Any suggestions welcome
Cheers

Magiscroft near cumbernauld is your best bet bud.

Used to fish maggiscroft when it first opened. Wasn't a big fan of the place mate. When I say new to the sport I mean carp fishing. Been fishing for pike and salmon for years. Just looking for a decent place to have a go for carp. Was looking at dunmore

Keep looking!

Why not Lanark Loch? Plenty of SCG members who will give advice for a can of Irn-Bru :)

To be fair, I have not fished it in a while, however I have had my ear to the ground and it seems that the odd small carp has been caught (bigger fish may just be kept a secret) but numbers are few and far between and the fish are only around the 2lb mark at best.

Magiscroft and Orchill are the places to get a bend in your rod.

there have been a few in the 3- 5 lb category caught as well. I haven;t fished there for ages but I know someone who does go occasionally. Still a decent bet for tench.
