Hello, my name is Ray and I am moving to Fife from Manchester next week ( after taking early retirement) I am only 5 minutes up the road from the BRICKIE so will pay a visit to have a look around soon after my arrival, i would really like to know of other waters within about an hours drive from Inverkeithing so any help in this direction would be much appreciated. thank you and hope to meet you on the bank soon, ps do i need a rod licence in Scotland?

Hi Ray, no you dont need a rod license in Scotland! If you fancy a challenge & since you're in Fife, you might want to give Kinghorn the once over!

Thanks Keith, and others for the replies, I will certainly check out Kinghorn soon, have read some of the posts on here regarding Kinghorn and it sounds very interesting. will be sending in an application to Join the SGC soon after my arrival, which will be this week. thanks

Hi Ray & welcome to the forum.
Where did you fish in & around Manchester ? I lived there for a good few years & spent lots of time on waters like Chorlton WP, Sale, Georges, Smiths etc etc
Cheers Saul

Cheers Saul Hi Saul , caught my first carp on compstall lodge in 1985 then moved onto Sale & Chorlton water parks for a year or two along with Heatley mere, then started travelling a bit further afield, Sapphire lake nr Newark and also got myself a 10 year permit for Horseshoe lake when the carp society first took control, I then started fishing some of the linear fisheries waters. I haven't fished much over the last few years due to work commitments etc but looking forward to starting again soon, hope to see you on the bank sometime Cheers
