Are there any good spots for big bass on the Firth of Forth (South side/East lothian) ?
Cockenzie is stuffed with small stuff being the nursery type area but where are the big fellas ??
Get the feeling this subject will be more secretive than talking about big carp but worth a go

Cheers
Saul

Gotta be SW for the biggies, Gulf stream etc. I think. Auchenlarie, St. Ninians cave have produced for me but I wouldnt expect much until June. Catch Auchenlarie at the right time- after big blow, little or no rain with big bucket peeler and u can have a riot with smuts, bass and if ure really lucky tope.
Heavy carp gear will do it, the creepy guy in Mutant Stewart angling centre will point u in the right direction.
Lovely part of the world well worth it for the sea air even if u dont catch.
East produces good quantity of bass around Kincardine also flatties and odd sea trout. Power station outflows fish well this time of year.
Saul feel free to PM me an exchange of your carp knowledge for my bassin tips would be a good deal thinks I.

John

Hi John

Thanks for the info, I was just interested locally as I've just moved right next to the coast Nr Musselburgh.
From what I hear there are loads of people taking everything they catch including undersized fish to sell

Cheers
Saul

You hear right Saul, loads of people are fishing the warm water outflow's taking undersize fish and swapping them for chinese meals, from what i gather from a couple of sea fishing buddy's of mine from your side of the water it can get a bit nasty aswell, these are the dipshits who leave all the litter an broken bottle's everywhere, there not fishermen but we all get tarred with the same brush
