a good soarce seen a picture of a 17lb barbel today the capture was by a salmon angler spinning. hooked fair in the mouth from the clyde. he told me it had a head on it like a horse and the guy had winesses ect and was going to claim the scottish record. any one else heard this??

Thats what I heard on one of the Salmon boards. Ment tio have been foul hooked by a "sporting" gentleman who was fishing a rapala in low water across the backs of Salmon. He saw the Barbel and thought it was a salmon so, allegidly, deliberatly "ripped" it....or so the story goes... :evil:

Such sporting fellows some of these Clyde salmon chaps.
